Pretty As A Peacock

Peacocks have a great sale on at the mo, and are offering free delivery if you spend £30, which really wouldn’t be too hard!

My picks from the sale are below, all prices are accurate at time of blogging!

Cute to dress down with a cardi, tights and either black or brown boots, its hard to see what the darkest colour is on this dress. No need for accessories, let the pattern do the talking.  Ladies 60s Print Shift Dress £9

Flared skirts are EVERYWHERE. Which isn’t such a bad thing.  They flatter all shapes, forgive your Food Baby Belly after a big lunch .The problems come when the wind lifts it round you head, and when shops insist on making them short enough to see what food that baby ate for lunch.  This one promises to fall just below the knee, which is much more like it. the contrasting side panels, and zip make for something just a little bit different from all the skater dresses out there.   Fit & Flare Colour Block Dress £14

This skirt has a bit of a mullet going on, but I think it would be perfect with chunky boots and a huge wool scarf in the snow! Slinky Dip Hem Skirt £8

Unfortunately this dress suffers from poor styling, well, I certainly wouldn’t wear that dress with THOSE heels.  I really think it needs a wide belt, and knee high black boots.  Add a wide floppy hat for a real ’70s feel.  Hanky Hem Dress £11

Another ‘mullet’ skirt, I really like the rust colour of this one, but would reserve judgement until I seen the fabric, it looks a bit shiny. But I like a challenge.  Its in a new range, called Peacocks by Design, and is available in mid brown and teal.  Dip Hem skirt £14

Perhaps my favourite out of all the dresses, and for £20, its a bargain.  Peacocks can be touch and go with their quality, but this is again from the new by Design range, so I would like to think they addressed those issues.  This dress would get worn a lot!!  Colour Block Dress £20

Im keen to try a leather skirt, and this faux leather one could be a cheap way to discover that its actually not for me at all.  I envision wearing it to work, with a crisp white shirt, but reality? I wouldn’t have a clue what shoes to wear with it, and would squeek against my faux leather chair all day.  Pleat Centre Hem Skirt £9

Yeah, I need these.  Brogue Heel Boots £24.50

Available in brown ’leather’ or black faux suede, these wedge heels would be a welcome addition to any wardrobe. I might  have to get the black! Wedge boots both styles £21

These surprised me when I came across them, pleasantly!! Peacocks shoes can be on the small, and narrow side, so again, I’d have to see these in real life, before I committed to them.  Holly Round Toe Block Platform Heels £17.50

I’ve been waiting, for some boots like you

I’m currently saving all my pennies for these amaing Jeffery Campbell boots from Office.co.uk.
£200. Eek. And then the totally unfair £10 p&p charges to Northern Ireland, when the rest of the UK gets it free. I know from personal experience it costs no more with Royal Mail to send a parcel to London, as it does to send it next door. Its about time companies realised this, especially when the Belfast store doesnt even stock these boots!! (I know, I have checked.)

I think I’m half way there, I haven’t checked yet. My sister has the key to the piggy bank so I don’t go into it!

Its Simple, you just buy me the boots…….

These Carvela boots have stolen my heart. Just look at them.

Perfect does not come near!! They are like a mullet, business at the front, party at the back! They feature a rounded toe, platform, have cute little laces, and are quite manly in their styling. At the front. But turn them round and you have one of the sexiest heels I have ever seen in my life. And I’ve seen a lot of shoes.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Wow. Just wow. They kinda look like drawing pins, or in actual fact, looking at them now, dont they look like replacement heel tips, only the wrong way round? Its about time designers got back to the classier stiletto heel, although I am first to admit that I do appreciate a chunkier heel, to make a shoe much more wearable.

The only hang up? The price. Isn’t it always. £160 is all that is keeping these beauties off my feet. Kurt Geiger, and Carvela may be doing some cheaper shoes, but their top end prices have gone sky high. £550 for a pair of boots?!?! I’d rather have a pair of Louboutins dahling ;)
