#30DayBlog: A Week of Mid Term Ideas
A discussion on Twitter lead me to realise just how soon, and how long the kids are off for Easter!! And because I’m taking part in the Nikki P 30 Day Blog Challenge, I thought I would use todays suggestion and create a Top 7 based on keeping the little monsters darlings busy for over the break.
No 1. Weird Science
Everyone is fascinated by science. Be it complex experiments, or simply bubbles that you can touch, its great fun discovering how and why things work. There are many cheap options you can buy to keep kids entertained for a few hours, using solar power, or simple mechanics.
Argos, Toys r Us and many other shops stock a fantastic range of Science Museum products, and National Geographic things, ranging from balloon copters, flying UFOs, to water pumps you have to assemble, telescopes and metal detectors. Whatever the age, you will enjoy bird watching, hunting for buried treasure, or chasing balloons around the garden!
No 2. With DVDs

Xtravision have very cheap kids DVD rental. Maybe you have an extensive collection (like me!) Or maybe you are looking for some new ones, in which case you might want to check out www.ChoicesUK.com. Excellent clearance section with films from 99p, and free delivery if you spend £2.50, which isnt hard, believe me! I ordered Raiders of the Lost Ark, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Scrooged, and a few more! They also had loads for younger kids, and a few PS2 games for 99p. There no harm in planting them in front of the TV for an hour or two… especially if it lets you get peace for a cuppa!
No 3. Paper Craft

(Picture from Things To Make And Do)
Do you remember spending hours making paper chain dolls, or snowflakes, or paper garlands from pretty coloured scraps of paper? Clear the kitchen table, get out the prittstick and old magazines, or news papers, or wrapping paper, anything that you have handy, and get cutting!! Then of course, you have to decorate the house with your designs, better get blu-tac, so things can be removed eventually.
You could show your child how to make one of these Origami Fortune Tellers. Or make a mobile from origami cranes. What do you mean you dont know how to……? Youtube
No 4. Free Entry
Museums, parks, libraries, not everything costs money. Check with your local tourist information centre to see whats on offer in your area. You might be pleasantly surprised.
No 5. Duvet day

Bundle everyone onto the big bed. Jammies, teddies, blankets, and as many pillows as you can find. Make tents hanging sheets from the wardrobe doors. Regress to your childhood, play i-Spy, have pillow fights, and tickle each other. Kids grow up too fast, so enjoy them when you can.
No 6. Play Dates
Before the end of term, arrange for the best friend to come round and spend a day with yous. With any luck, the favour will be returned
No 7. Cinema
Did you know that most cinema chains run a kids club on a Saturday and Sunday morning? Entrance can be as little as £1 per person, or £2 per child, with free adults, depending on the chain. Check out your local one online. It could be the chance to see that film the kids went on about but you couldnt find the time, or the £20 it takes to even think about a cinema trip. Or maybe to watch one they loved seeing before. Just make sure you pack a few sweets in your fashionably large handbag, to keep the costs down
I’m only getting one week off work over Easter, but I do hope to put at least some of these into action. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it!
#30DayBlog: 8 year old given botox
See the full story on The Sun website here
Words escape me.
This woman gives her daughter botox.
But possibly more shocking is the fact she waxes her. Legs. And also pubic hair. I feel sick!!
My son is 9, and lets just say, pubes are certainly not something hes developed, and hes ahead of his peers!
The young girl wants a ‘boob job’. Complains she sees wrinkles. Her dad died 4 years ago, aged 83. The poor child was never off to a conventional start, and her idiot mother has ensured that its stayed that way!
The child is cute enough, I guess, hardly a looker. But its not that the botox that has improved her looks.
And there are NO LAWS in the UK against this. Unbelievable.
I have signed up to the Nikki P 30 Day Blogging Challenge, so you might expect some random blog posts as I give it a go!
To infinity….. and beyond
I know I’ve mentioned this a lot, but I’m turning 30 this year. 30. Eeek. I have to start moisturising properly, probably should exercise more (than the zero that I do), stop eating so many Pom Bears, start drinking a glass of water between each alcoholic drink, shouldn’t wear heels absolutely everywhere, and do all these things so I dont turn round at 40 and yell cos I ended up looking like my mother.
However the biggest step for the future comes now. If you are a bloke you may want to turn away now.
Where are you going, I don’t mind
The Kinks – Strangers

I’ve started to list a few things over here……
Here at Heels HQ things are a little cluttered….. and its really time I got rid of shoes I cant/dont wear, and of dresses that dont get to see the light of day.

Please share with any friends you thing might be interested!! I will be listing more stuff at the weekend.
Thanks!
Confession Time
I’m a hoarder. I absolutely HATE to throw anything out. Now, this wont come as a surprise to anyone who knows me, and who knows what my wardrobe and shoe collection are like……..
But what has brought this confession on, is the fact that something I have hoarded actually causes me emotional pain. I keep things that I hate, even if it hurts. And I do not know why.
This particular item is a hand written note to me, thanking me for something dumb. I seemingly helped someone get their missing dog back, by writing about 5 words on a Facebook status, and I got sent a present, and a long note thanking me and telling me how much the dog means to them. To anyone else, it may look like I am being ungrateful, but its actually very complicated, and this person concerned seems intent on trying to weedle her way into my life, and I DO NOT WANT. Its hurtful, and upsetting to me, that this person thinks, from my politeness in not making a scene, that I actually like her.
But, Ive lost my bitch gene. I cant do it, because of my son. I do not want him to think bad of me, if I were to have enemies in our home town. In case something is said to me in public by these people, they really are quite scabby, and would do that.
But why have I kept it? I do not know. I will throw it out today, I have to. I might have to ask someone else to do it…… but its going today. I hope its just the start of me being able to cut ties with silly material things. My life would be so much less complicated and crowded if I can.
