More UO Sales

I missed out on all the other Urban Outfitters sale stuff I picked :( So I’m gonna torture myself again with these.

The faux leather leggings sound sooooo wrong, and yet for £20, they could be exactly what is missing from my wardrobe! Whereas the triple ring is adorable, and I have to have it.  £8. Yes please.

I’m gonna be really bad and order these, although I’m seriously penniless right now.   But I’m gonna spend today and tomorrow sorting out clothes for a possible Twitter/Tumblr/Blog/ASOS Marketplace sale. So I hope to make this money back, and more!

Maybe you have the key to the Tardis? My son lost his…..

If you are a fan of Doctor Who, and his many Nemeses then you are in for a treat. Vortex III is happening again this year, Sunday 1st May, in the Europa Hotel, Belfast. Its an epic day out, starting 10am, and finishing after a party in the wee small hours.

Taken from the website:
“UT Events are returning for a third trip through the Time Vortex on Sunday 1st May 2011. Guest actors, hot from the sets of Doctor Who and Torchwood, will be taking to the stage to talk about their experience working on the show and taking questions from the audience. Familiar sets and props will be on display and live characters will be roaming the event floor where attendees will find more photo opportunities than ever.

Autographs and photo sessions with our guests will be available, as well as a once in a lifetime opportunity to sit down for an intimate meet & greet over coffee.

Our first guest is Bill Paterson, who will be making his first ever convention appearance with us in May.”

Did you see? Bill Paterson!! Bracewell from the Pandorica Opens episodes, with Churchill, and of course, the Daleks. They will be there too.

I should blog more often……

I’m not very good at keeping up with this thing, am I?  I find Tumblr much easier, because its instant and random. I really probably should make my blog completely on tumblr, I own the domain name, so I can make my page anything, cant I? Alternatively I could import the Tumblr posts here instead. I dunno what would be easier. I see a lot more full blogs being put on tumblr, which works if you have the right theme. I find the layout on some though isnt perfect for a lot of wordy stuff.

I had a day off work cos its half term, which was spent lazing round, chatting with my son, and being generally hungover and tired. We watched Clue, played xbox, and argued over eating spaghetti for lunch. As in, I wanted him to eat it, he disagreed. I should have used it to sort my mountain of shoes……. and I did consider it for a moment, but the length of time it took me to even make the spaghetti, I decided to leave shoes until tomorrow. I am in serious need of a new storage system, but I just dont know what will work for me. I’ll figure it out. Or throw them all back in a pile under the stairs. Who knows.

Wow that was a dull post. Sorry.

Lonely Bird

Last Friday, walking home after the pub at about 1.30am, I heard a bird singing his wee heart out. The town was quiet, and you could hear this wee chap clearly. We had a little laugh at the silly bird, it wasn’t time to get up yet!

As I got closer to home, I realised the little chap was actually sitting on the building opposite my house!! I could see him perched there, singing loudly, but he was the only one. No other birds returned his call.  And when I thought of it, I havent seen or heard any others. I think he’s a thrush.  I felt sad, thinking he was alone.

A few nights later, I went to my sisters, who lives very close by. It mustve been about 8pm ish. And yet again, over there, I heard the little bird. Still trilling, still lonesome.

This morning at 4.30am, before sunrise, both hubby and I were woken by his solo serenade to someone who isnt there to listen to it.  He sounds so happy, yet so eager to impress and have someone respond.  It breaks my heart thinking about that wee bird, has his mate been caught by a cat? Why is he alone, without his flock?  I hope that he finds who he is looking for, and not least because I don’t need woken at some ungodly hour every day, but because I could cry thinking about it. Imagine being completely alone. That would be the scariest thing in the world.
